They failed, we pay
Incase you missed BC’s latest update, I found it interesting that Dr. Henry was asked how hospitalizations were counted: how many patients were admitted with COVID, how many went in for unrelated issues but happened to test positive, how many got it from the hospital.
In other words, just how accurate are these numbers? Two years into this mess, it seems they’re still working on it.
It’s a mixed bag.
”We’re trying to tease apart people who are in hospital from COVID, people who are in hospital with COVID, and people who are in hospital because COVID exacerbated one of the underlying conditions,” she said. “It’s not easy to do that, except by going and looking at every individual chart.”
So basically, B.C. is counting everyone in the hospital with a COVID positive test as a hospitalization despite if they came in for something else then tested positive, or caught it there.
The mayor of Brampton pointed out similar findings…
“Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown is now looking to draw attention to this under-reported issue, which is only getting bigger. “I’ve been told it’s about 50% of cases,” Brown said in a phone interview with the Sun , referring specifically to Brampton hospitals.
This means the actual number of people in hospital with COVID-19 throughout Ontario may be half of what the official numbers indicate” ~Toronto Sun
Stupid is as stupid does: BC fired unvaccinated front line workers, but mulls decision to allow positive-covid workers to keep working. How pandemicy is this really?
Further in this update Health Minister Adrian Dix noted pre-pandemic, B.C. ran its base bed capacity at 103.5% during the winter flu season. There are also 510 base ICU beds operating at 89% capacity and 218 surge ICU beds operating at 11% capacity.
But a bed without staff to work it, is just a bed, Dix suggested.
“It’s not just an issue of we have this many beds available, it’s also a significant staffing issue, which is why we are taking the steps we are taking,” he said, referring to the postponement of many surgeries.
We foolishly allowed them to impose mandates.. So should we do the same hoping for a different outcome and allow them to make it Mandatory too? Sigh
“Mandatory vaccinations on the horizon, liberal health minister says.”
So what will they do if you don’t get two, then three, four (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) shots? Arrest people? Hold you down and force a shot into your arm? Not allow people to go get groceries? Fine you every month? Remove children from schools? Lock you down harder, or just the unvaxxed as we watch it explode amongst the vaxxed anyways? As we all spiral into mass homelessness, crime, overdoses and suicides? Oh sh*t!
Can the people actually stop this insanity? YES!
For those stuck on “helping for the greater good”; you sweet helpful Canadians, then perhaps you can set your sights on something bigger than just Canada. For every healthy person that takes a booster, you’re depriving another country from even getting their 1st shot. Currently due to vaccine inequality, “only half (out of 194) of WHO’s Member States have been able to inoculate 40% of their population due to distortions in global supply. WHO urges rich countries to hold off on booster shots.” – Yet here we are in all our selfish glory.
If it’s about our hospitals — not even the MSM can hide, the govt failed (health care was already in peril prior to COVID. And shockingly we are still digging out of the 1st lockdowns due to massive backlogs — thousands, not related to COVID died).
Bottom line: Many believe our liberal government is essentially imposing these draconian measures to save their ass & hide their failures. Could they be right?
Given the explosion in “breakthrough” cases, we need to admit, we are all culpable of passing it on and nobody is “safer”. Vaccinated chances of hospitalizations or dying are the same roulette wheel for the unvaccinated. Waning for the vaccine begins around two months (according to Israel), so maybe vaccinated may get a couple months break. Hmm, That’s a lot of boosters for the future….
Here we go, it’s already starting!: From 6 months to 5 months. Next up 3 months?….
I can’t help feeling, it’s like the govt is freaking out because they can’t hide that’s it’s almost over, they’re losing their grip, they failed us in more ways than we can ever imagine and people are finally noticing.
Broken Trust
Remember when
- the government screwed up and didn’t have any masks, so they jeopardized lives (according to their standards now) and said masks don’t work.
- they said it’s okay to mix vaccines, despite WHO warning against mixing because long term effects were unknown. And travel woes ensued.
- they said vaccines were safe for kids, then after hundreds of kids turned up in the hospitals with heart issues.. They rescinded Moderna for those, eventually under 30.
Are we there again?
Supply issues with the Pfizer vaccine in Ontario, (with no future deliveries scheduled at this time), has forced the health authority to booster people 30+ with only Moderna, therefore half are walking away from the shot.
One must also wonder – since people in Ontario are thumbing their nose at Moderna, it’s now forced the gov’t to push mixing vaccines hard, so out pops a statement like the attached image. Wait, so, if they are the same – why do they still recommend Pfizer for kids and young adults?
Whew! A mouth full 😬. I’ve definitely been ranting more than I normally would on one subject. It’s a COVID world I guess. Just like everyone else, I feel just as burned out, stressed out, and worried! All I know, whatever spectrum you’re on, we can’t fall into an authoritarian rabbit hole. As a rich, plentiful, diverse, beautiful and modern country, trust me we don’t want Mao 2.0. No matter how good some may think our leader is, we deserve….
